Travel back in time & enjoy a vintage Airstream glamping holiday! This fleet of original classic American Airstreams is ready to welcome you on the most relaxing & impossibly romantic getaway you could dream of in a hidden corner of the Isle of Wight. We've all seen Airstreams in the movies. They're the American trailers with those bright aluminium panels riveted together to create that distinctive curved form that glistens in the sunshine. Back in the 40s 50s & 60s pitching up your Airstream was the way to spend time away from home be it surfing in some cool secluded bay or just relaxing in the countryside away from urban life. To this day vintage Airstreams are still very much sought after & have an incredible cult following. What makes the Airstreams on this Isle of Wight glamping site so special is that they have been lovingly restored rather than being renovated whilst keeping as many original features as possible. That means that rather than replacing those slightly worn classic chrome curvy handles they keep them. Then there's the wood panelling & original Formica cupboards. Even the decor is in keeping with the period - right down to the chintzy china & crocheted blankets. This really is a holiday with that genuine retro feel. It's a bit like a 1950s boutique hotel in an (aluminium) tin all so classic cosy & lovely that you will just adore the ambiance & laid back feel of these Airstreams. Each one is individually decorated meaning that every one has its own character but all have the very vintage vibe to them that makes these holiday rentals on the Isle of Wight so utterly quirky in every way. So apart from chilling out on your classic striped deckchairs & challenging your partner to a game of Monopoly (a wonderful genuine 1960s version of the boardgames that is!) what else is there to do when you're glamping it up on the Isle of Wight in an Airstream? Well with beaches harbours woodlands & marshes the Isle of Wight has been described as being like 'the whole of England condensed into one small island' which sounds pretty perfect to us. Add to all that the likes of the zoo & botanical gardens Osbourne House Carisbrooke House & Cowes with the steam railway & model village too & you've got plenty of choice for things to do during your weekend of Airstream glamping all in that delightfully & captivatingly vintage 1950s kind of way of course! ...

Adopt an alpaca & get yourself a new very fluffy BFF! These alpaca adoption packages last a whole year & as well as the usual adoption package sent in the post you also get two visits the alpaca farm where they all live with one of those visits including an alpaca walk. Alpacas are truly fascinating creatures. Once you've met one you'll be totally enthralled by them & want to take them home with you. As most of us don't have enough room for an alpaca adopting one is the next best thing & these packages make great gifts to give adults & kids alike. After all everyone loves these cheeky alpacas. Funnily enough a chance meeting was just how farm owner Annie started her love affair with alpacas. Having seen alpacas at a country show she thought these lovable creatures would be a great addition at her farm especially for the grandchildren. She started with a trio of cheeky fellows & with two pregnant females joining Annie began alpaca breeding. With the ever-growing herd it was time to make use of the fabulously soft fleeces of the alpacas when they are shorn once per year culminating in a shop full of fabulously cosy alpaca wool clothing from socks & jumpers to bedding & hats. & as an alpaca adopter you'll be the proud owner of your very own alpaca gift as part of the adoption process. If it's a child adopting the cuddly toy alpaca is the usual treat but it has to be said it's also a favourite with adults too. & as well as things like alpaca logo stationery there are also super soft & cosy alpaca fleece socks that can be chosen as the accompanying gift. When it comes to which alpaca to adopt it's not easy to choose. There are baby juvenile & adult alpacas looking for your love. Peter is the chatty one Niko keeps himself spotless Golly Golly Gosh is the cheekiest & Brian is the shy one whilst Lara is always first to greet visitors arriving at the farm... & indeed when you adopt & alpaca you'll get to meet your alpaca. Soar over those snow-capped peaks on this alpine flight simulator experience! It's not every day you get to fly along a deep mountain valley to land at an airport in the Austrian Alps but that's exactly what you'll be doing on this virtual flying session on a simulator. You'll need nerves of steel for this one... Innsbruck International Airport (IATA code INN) is classed as a Category C aerodrome due to its very particular & tricky approach. In fact for any captain to be allowed to fly into Innsbruck they are required to be briefed of the specifics of Innsbruck Airport & visit the airport as an observer and/or undertake instruction on a flight simulator. This training needs to then be certified by the airline before they can fly to this heart of the glorious Austrian Tirol region. So you will be following exactly the same sort of simulator training as a fully qualified commercial airline pilot who is seeking category C certification to be able to land at Innsbruck Airport. Pr... ...
Gear yourself up for the Dodge Challenger drive at a track near you! This modern muscle car from the Stateside is a true automotive star & this is your chance to take it for a spin at your choice from several tracks around the country.
This particular Dodge Challenger is an R/T Scat Pack 392. If you’re not into your Americana you won’t have a clue what all that means but if you love your beefy American V8s you’ll totally get what it’s all about. Here’s your lesson in Dodge Challenger lingo:
The R/T stands for Road/ Track which means this beast is as at home on the NASCAR circuit as it is street racing with upgraded brakes suspension & tyres. The Scat Pack refers to the trim level from Dodge. Legend has it that it’s a nod to Frank Sinatra’s Rat Pack but whatever the story behind it this big boy delivers on style in that all-American way.
The 392 bit refers to the V8 HEMI engine that powers this monster. We’re talking 492bhp 1765mph top speed & a 0-60mph time of 3.8 seconds all wrapped up in a wide-bodied chassis with rear-wheel drive to boot.
When they said this latest generation of the Dodge Challenger was the ‘ Leader of the Pack’ they meant it. Dodge has stayed true to the halcyon days of muscle cars with the ‘shaker hood’ where the engine air intake pokes out of the car’s bonnet & literally shakes when that throaty V8 is revved.
We think you’ll love driving this Dodge Challenger as much as we’ve loved telling you about it. If you are fascinated by all things American you will adore these experiences in the R/T Scat Pack 392. It really is quite a drive with this latest generation Challenger’s pedigree going right back to 1969.
We are offering Blast & Thrill experiences with the Thrill doubling your drive time in the Dodge. Available at a range of tracks around the UK you can choose where you’d like to go for your Dodge Challenger drive. Book now & get ready to drive the awesome R/T Scat Pack! ...
When it comes to Argocat driving you'll certainly need your wits about you to be able to control this 8x 8 vehicle! On this particular model there's no steering wheel & not even a set of handlebars it's all about the levers but with a bit of crunching & lot of concentration you should get the knack pretty quickly. This amphibious vehicle is a mind blowing little thing that really packs a punch. When you first catch sight of the Argocat you might be forgiven for thinking something that small can't possibly be much good when it comes to rough & tumble terrain but believe us the brilliance is in its simplicity. With eight wheels a very basic open cab with seating for two & a 'bin' behind that lets up to four perch on the edge for the ride that's about your lot. The genius comes in the fact that this vehicle is amphibious so you can go driving it pretty much anywhere & it's small enough to go weaving in & out of trees take on narrow paths or even attempt ground where there is no path at all just rocks tree roots & dirt. Here at this centre in Leicestershire the instructors have plotted designed & built several different trails that all make the most of the natural lay of the l&. Being a former quarry there are plenty of challenges to be had & we're pretty sure you'll bottle it way before the Argocat does! And if you've ever seen one of these plucky amphibious vehicles being driven you may have noticed that none of the wheels move. Which may lead you to ask yourself how the Argocat turns? Well this 8x 8 actually uses the skid-steer method which is exactly as it sounds. That's to say the eight wheels work independently & according to whether the left set or the right set are turning & driving forward you will skid & slide in the opposite direction. If that's as clear as mud you'll be able to suss it all out when you're in the hot seat! This experience lasts around an hour & gives all participants plenty of Argocat driving during which you'll be able to tackle everything from steep gradients to some scarily deep water troughs (don't worry you won't sink the Argocat is amphibious remember?). You may have driven some different vehicles in your time but nothing quite so madcap as this 8x 8 skid steering mini monster! ...
