When it comes to Argocat driving you'll certainly need your wits about you to be able to control this 8x 8 vehicle! On this particular model there's no steering wheel & not even a set of handlebars it's all about the levers but with a bit of crunching & lot of concentration you should get the knack pretty quickly. This amphibious vehicle is a mind blowing little thing that really packs a punch. When you first catch sight of the Argocat you might be forgiven for thinking something that small can't possibly be much good when it comes to rough & tumble terrain but believe us the brilliance is in its simplicity. With eight wheels a very basic open cab with seating for two & a 'bin' behind that lets up to four perch on the edge for the ride that's about your lot. The genius comes in the fact that this vehicle is amphibious so you can go driving it pretty much anywhere & it's small enough to go weaving in & out of trees take on narrow paths or even attempt ground where there is no path at all just rocks tree roots & dirt. Here at this centre in Leicestershire the instructors have plotted designed & built several different trails that all make the most of the natural lay of the l&. Being a former quarry there are plenty of challenges to be had & we're pretty sure you'll bottle it way before the Argocat does! And if you've ever seen one of these plucky amphibious vehicles being driven you may have noticed that none of the wheels move. Which may lead you to ask yourself how the Argocat turns? Well this 8x 8 actually uses the skid-steer method which is exactly as it sounds. That's to say the eight wheels work independently & according to whether the left set or the right set are turning & driving forward you will skid & slide in the opposite direction. If that's as clear as mud you'll be able to suss it all out when you're in the hot seat! This experience lasts around an hour & gives all participants plenty of Argocat driving during which you'll be able to tackle everything from steep gradients to some scarily deep water troughs (don't worry you won't sink the Argocat is amphibious remember?). Go aqua zorbing & be thrown around in a massive inflatable hamster ball filled with 30 litres of water! It's possibly one of the silliest activities we offer & you will unquestionably be screaming & laughing as you roll down the hill. We have hydro zorbing centres all over the country offering this ridiculously crazy rotating activity & you can leave it to the recipient to decide where they would like to roll (see below for the full list of our aqua sphereing locations). It's a hard one to describe but we think aqua zorbing is probably as close as it gets to feeling of what it is like to be in a washing machine on a spin cycle! Unlike some of our other zorbing activities you are not strapped down so you'll be bouncing & sloshing about on the inside of the plastic sphere with a load of water
- & it feels a bit like rebounding off the walls of a bouncy castle. When you go hydro zorbing don't forget to bring your swimming gear as you are so going to get drenched! Globe-riding in these three metre-wide zorbs with you & a load of water is pretty epic stuff. You will be rolling as a pair slipping & sliding inside the sphere & speeding down the slope. There is only enough water in the inflatable ball for you to slither around so you won't be underwater at any point during your aqua zorb ride. The roll lasts around 30 seconds at most but trust us it's one of those slow motion experiences that feels much much longer especially when you are screaming or laughing! For anyone who has never seen a zorb before there is an inner & outer orb with the air in between cushioning you while you're freely being chucked all over the place.
