Go Segwaying in Thirsk & it's all about the obstacles & the cross country! North Yorkshire is the setting for this experience more specifically a 50-acre outdoor driving & activity centre just outside Thirsk in some rather picture-perfect countryside. With lots going on at this venue each activity has its own sector & you will be orientated towards zone three which has been purpose-built for the Segways. Now these aren't just your standard machine. The X2 model has been developed specifically for outdoor off road use with the additions of things like low pressure tyres & lithium-ion batteries. This means the transporter can tackle rough terrain gripping on grass & gravel with ease & the can go for longer without running out of power. too. There are three parts to these hour long experiences near Thirsk. An initial training period will see you learning how to handle the X2 & mastering slow-speed basic manoeuvres in a small paddock area near to the Segway base. You will then move on to a mown grass section which has been made more complicated with obstacles such as logs & coned-out slalom courses for you to swerve around
- all designed to keep you on your toes! The third part of your session is a cross country mini trek where you will follow the leader on your personal transporter. Heading off through the estate you'll be deftly weaving through the zone's trails & track. This is the moment that paddock & obstacle practice will come good as you tackle the natural bumps & lumps of the l&. We are offering Segway rides in Thirsk for both adults & juniors up to the age of 11 who are at least 4ft tall (from 12 years it's an adult voucher). Grown ups & youngsters can Segway together with group sizes being kept to a maximum of six at any one time. Great fun in the countryside near Thirsk!

A short sharp blast of Segway riding that'll getting you weaving around the obstacles with ease! It'll be Segway fun all the way with these 30 minute riding sessions at your choice of circuit venue. Let's see if you can handle the gyroscopic giddiness of these crazy little electric vehicles. If you've never even seen a Segway before you're sure to raise an eyebrow when you clap eyes on one for the first time. They sort of look like something from a sci-fi film that's not quite real. After all how can you travel on a little board with wheels like that let along whizz up & down an undulating off road trail? Well funnily enough the answer is in the science of it all. We're talking gyroscopes & Lean Steer technology which makes riding the Segway as simple as 1 2 3 apparently. Having said that you will need a little start up session to familiarise yourself with the Segways so you can get used to the rather supernatural feeling of gliding along. If you've never ridden one before you're sure to be a little bit wobbly to begin with but within minutes most newbie Segwayers are spinning around on their own axis with aplomb & having a lot of fun so it's time to head off on the track. Of course we're not talking about riding around on the actual tarmac race track on your Segway. With a max speed of around 12mph you won't be as quick as all the sports cars out there going considerably faster. Instead this operator has created purpose-built Segway routes around the perimeter areas of these track venues complete with all the bumps hills dips & drops you can wish for. As you'll be equipped with an X2 Seg that's to say one of the specially adapted cross-country models you'll be able to tackle this tricky terrain no problem but just in case all the safety gear you need is provided. In essence Segway riding is great fun & these 30 minute sessions ensure you get to test the personal transporter & your own Segwaying skills to the max. ...

These very special lunch cruise & View from the Shard packages will get you going up high & going with the flow on the Thames! We can't think of a better way to see London than with an informal three course meal on the river & a trip to visit inside the capital's tallest building. The timings for your day are very flexible. All you have to do is plan your outing around the luncheon cruise & you can enjoy your panoramic high-rise vistas either before or after your trip down the Thames. We think the best plan is a leisurely voyage into the capital in the morning to do the boat followed by the Shard. Wander along from Embankment tube to the jetty where the impressive 'bateau mouche' style boat will be waiting for you. These modern cruisers have large panoramic windows so no matter where you are seated you'll be able to see all the main landmarks & sights as you glide gracefully past. You'll see how the Thames 'works' with the large number of leisure craft water taxis & even the occasional tall ship all sharing the waters all watched over by the Marine Police Force. Then there are the bridges. Famous landmarks in their own right (remember the Olympic rings on Tower Bridge?) it's really quite special to slide right underneath these iconic structures that link the north & south shores of the Thames. & of course you get a prime view of all the famous buildings along the shoreline & beyond too including Canary Wharf St Paul's the Globe Theatre Tate Modern & so much more. Don't worry if you don't know one bridge from another or couldn't pinpoint the Oxo tower on a map. After you've enjoyed your meal the return leg of your cruise is commentated so you won't miss anything. But your lunch cruise experience doesn't end there
- there's the view from the Shard bit too as you head back over the river to London Bridge. It's truly superb to get yet another different perspective on the capital as fancy high-speed lifts take you up to 244m above ground level for a vertiginous view of London. On a clear day you can see way beyond the capital & into the Home Counties but the best is looking down on life as it happens right below you
- it's seriously mesmerising!

Product Description

Segway through Sherwood Forest in style with this Woodland Adventure experience. Glide smoothly over the rough tree-lined paths & trails of this infamous site on your own X2 All-Terrain personal transporter.

Suitable for newcomers through to pro riders for people of all shapes sizes & ages the Segway is a revolutionary way of getting from A to B effortlessly quietly & with the maximum amount of fun. Why explore Sherwood Forest on foot when you can Segway your way through the winding tracks of this immense national nature reserve in a physical & mental challenge like none other?

Your time in Sherwood starts by showing you how a Segway works – in essence you’re standing on a two-wheeled battery-operated vehicle that operates through balance so you steer by leaning in the appropriate direction. It takes a few minutes to get used to & the instructors at the centre will take the time to ensure you’re completely confident on the Segways before you leave the training arena.

Once you’ve mastered the fundamentals of Segwaying Sherwood Forest awaits. Take the x 2 off-road as it was designed to do & let the incredible power & ingenuity of this unassuming machine come to the fore. Whether it’s across flat ground over bumpy pathways or up embankments the Segway x 2 is built to cope with the full range of ground conditions you’ll encounter on this merry trek.

You can either opt for an exclusive lesson (with a minimum party size of four people at weekends & eight people on weekdays) or smaller groups can request to join a non-exclusive session where you’ll link up with other solo riders or couples to make up the required numbers. Each participant is guaranteed at least 20 minutes’ ride time on the Segway but the nature of the activity means turn-taking is a main aspect of the course & so there may be some waiting time depending on group numbers.

This Segway course at Sherwood Forest is the perfect way to spend a fun-filled hour or two with a group of family or friends with perhaps a bit of healthy competition thrown into the mix. Or for a full range of Segway options
- not only in Robin Hood's neck of the woods but all over the country
