Adelphi is regarded as the ultimate independent Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottler in the world. All the whiskies bottled are cask strength, non-filtered. Adelphi believes that only the very best single cask, single malt whiskies are good enough to be bottled on their own. This Bunnahabhain was distilled from peated malt in 1997 & aged for 13 years in a refill sherry cask before it was bottled. There are only 369 bottles in total from cask no. 5372. Nose: A prickly nose, & an immediate impression of smoky bacon crisps & peanut butter. Behind this, moorland & sea-shore scents of moss & bog myrtle, salt & dry seaweed. Taste: Drinks well, unreduced
- an 'old fashioned' taste, with canvas & acrid camp-fire smoke; sweet, but drying. Water increases (and loosens) the moorland & maritime aromas.
