Champagne Francoise Bedel, a three-generation family estate, is based at Crouttes-sur-Marne, a pretty village on the edge of the Champagne region. The vineyard's parcels of 8.4 hectares of vines aged 20 to 60 years are spread in the banks of the Marne river, over four areas: Nanteuil-Sur- Marne, Charly-Sur-Marne, & Villiers-Saint-Denis. Bedel operates on Biodynamic principles. Nose: The nose is fresh & reminiscent of white flowers (hawthorn, acacia). After agitation, it reveals very delicate aromas of floral-flavoured honey & spice bread. Palate: A champagne with a crisp initial impact on the palate, giving way to rich & generous floral notes, enhanced by a touch of liquorice. The dosage is understated & perfectly integrated, thus allowing the true essence of the wine to come to the fore. This finish is exuberant with a freshness accentuated by citrus aromas (lemon & grapefruit).
