The 2009 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley is deep & vibrant, with brilliant colour & excellent clarity. Aromatically, the wine is quite open, even opulent
- a mix of velvety rose petals, violets & spices. On the palate, the texture is lush & mouth-coating, but well-balanced. Together, they provide definition & intensity, followed by refined, silky tannins. The finish is quite long, with beautiful cherry notes, reminding me of fresh cobbler in the peak of summer. While the 09 will age quite well, it is to my personal taste, delicious to drink today.
- Veronique Drouhin-Boss, January, 2011 In the Willamette Valley, 2009 will be remembered as an exceptionally long growing season that ended in a relatively relaxed, even harvest. The accumulated heat throughout the season, in addition to a September heat spike, yielded wines with full fruit character
- powerful but balanced. Much like 2004 & 2006, these are wines that have an immediate charm but will age gracefully.

Opulent on the nose, it offers superb aromas of violet, acacia flowers, apricot & dried fruits with a hint of spice. Sweetness & acidity are perfectly balanced giving a rich, yet fresh, wine. On the palate, flavours of stone fruits & almond are very delicate & create a long lasting finish. ...

The appellation ' Clos de l'ecu' most probably comes from the Middle Ages: this clos or walled vineyard allowed the owners to pay the taxes they owed the Dukes of Burgundy, in the unit of currency of the time the ' Ecu'. This monopole or single-estate vineyard of Domaine Faiveley, was acquired in 2003. A dark ruby-garnet colour. The expressive nose gives off spicy, peppery & woody aromas. The round attack gives way to a concentrated & fresh wine on the palate, giving this premier cru a noble & distinguished character. The imposing volume & the long-lasting aromas mean quite exceptional cellaring potential, but as this wine is mature & full-bodied, it can be enjoyed already now. Serve with: Breast of Duck, Filet of Beef, Lamb Casserole. Veal Stew with Caramelised Baby Carrots. ...
