Very fresh but elegant on the nose, you are met by a wave of aromas, sweeter than you would expect from a rye spirit. On the front of the bottle is a picture of the tree 'Flamboyant' which is the national flower of Mauritius. Flamboyant comes into flower during the time of independence in March when the trees lining the sides of the roads in great avenues are ablaze with colour. Golden in colour due to oak maturation, the rum has no artificially added colours. This is fantastic sipping rum with a big, smooth, well-rounded nose and palate.
