I love this uniquely shaped chilli, it reminds me of a bell crossed with a flying saucer. The flavour isnt that hot, & it has a great fruity tang. I originally found this in Barbados, but it originates from South America, probably moving around the world with the Spanish conquistadors while they searched for gold! Named because of its winged shape, that resembles the flaps on a Bishops Crown. This 3-4' plant will produce 40-50+ uniquely shaped fruit, which are around 4cm long. The 3-4 wings are a milder & fruiter flavour than the main part of the chilli, which has a medium heat itself. 5, 000-15, 000SHU. Cropping & ripening later than the majority of other chillies, this has resulted in its nickname Christmas Bell. Sow February-April. Harvest June-September. ...
