Glenkinchie Distillers Edition 1992 has been partly matured in Amontillado sherry casks & bottled in 2007. It is a fantastic single malt whisky which breaks out from the norm for normal lowland whiskies that are said to have a short finish, try this & you will realise that this is utter nonsense. The nose is very fruity with a gentle sweetness. Some spice & pepper creeps in with a touch of oaked acidity & zesty orange with subtle esters. On the palate the sherry notes come through adding a warming sensation to the experience. Following this is the flavour from the oak that is accompanied by notes of allspice leading you to the finish. The Glenlivet distillery is found in Speyside Scotland in a glen surrounded by shadow casting mountain & secluded from the busy troubles of the outside world.
