The Glenlivet distillery is found in Speyside Scotland in a glen surrounded by shadow casting mountain & secluded from the busy troubles of the outside world. The distillery is built at a higher altitude to most, meaning that during the distillation process the brew will boil a lot quicker & help the whisky distil better & therefore create the unique taste of Glenlivet. Also due to it being located on such high ground it means it experiences a variety of different weather conditions, for the hottest sun to the harshest winter wind. There is no colder place in Britain or one where the air is so pure, & this helps create the pure fresh water that is at the heart of the whisky. The Glenlivet 12 year old was the first in the Glenlivet range. It has defining fruity pineapple note from the sma' stills lives on to this day in the George smith's definitive legacy of the Glenlivet. The 12 year old is a bright & lively gold colour & on the nose it is exquisite delicacy of summer-like fragrances with playful interlacing of floral & fruity aromas. A sensuous touch of exotic fruit notably pineapple. In time it opens with creamier & richer notes of stewed greengages & ripe apricots. Oak tenderly enhances that enticing bouquet with more vanilla & nutty notes & an echo of toasted oats. On the palate you get honeyed floral notes, a silky feel flowing on the tongue with a smooth & sweet fruit note of white peaches & pears poached in vanilla syrup. On the finish there are flavours of Marzipan & fresh hazelnut followed by gentle spiciness of grated ginger. ...

Glenmorangie 10 year old is the flagship bottle of the Glenmorangie range. It is an elegant, floral & spirited 10 year old single malt. The 10 year old is produced by marrying the delicate spirit that emerges from Scotland's tallest stills, with first & second fill American white oak casks. It is here that they are matured for 10 years in a range of ex-bourbon casks, such as the famous slow-grown & air-dried ‘designer casks' from Missouri. These designer casks are used to develop the raw spirit to achieve a perfect balance between sweetness & complexity. This results in a mature spirit that is soft, mellow & creamy. The colour of the 10 year old is a pale lemony gold & the aroma gives a scent of citrus & ripening peaches that is softened by the fragrance of vanilla. On the palate you can immediately detect vanilla on the tongue before it ripples along the mouth bringing a burst of flowery fruitiness which is then followed by the finish which hits about a minute after tasting. The Finish leaves you with a clean & salving aftertaste with hints of orange & peach, the perfect end to a succulent 10 year old. The Glenmorangie 10 year old has won a number of awards with its most recent being a Double Gold for Best Single Malt at the San Francisco world spirit championship. ...

Glenkinchie Distillers Edition 1992 Whisky 70cl

Glenkinchie Distillers Edition 1992 has been partly matured in Amontillado sherry casks and bottled in 2007. It is a fantastic single malt whisky which breaks out from the norm for normal lowland whiskies that are said to have a short finish, try this and you will realise that this is utter nonsense. The nose is very fruity with a gentle sweetness. Some spice and pepper creeps in with a touch of oaked acidity and zesty orange with subtle esters. On the palate the sherry notes come through adding a warming sensation to the experience. Following this is the flavour from the oak that is accompanied by notes of allspice leading you to the finish. This lingers on the palate and at the back of the throat with trailing flavours of oak and nutty notes.
