The Macallan 21 year old Fine Oak is a single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside. It has been triple cask matured in a unique complex combination of exceptional oak casks. The first of the casks that the whisky gets matured in is the European oak casks that have been coated in sherry so it can impart a rich character with hints of dried fruits, spice & chocolate orange. The second is the American oak casks that have been seasoned with sherry so that it can deliver a combination of delicate hints of citrus lemon, coconut & toffee. The third & final casks that this whisky ends its maturation journey on is an American oak casks seasoned with bourbon presenting floral aromas & sweet notes of vanilla & fresh fruits. The benefit of triple cask maturation is the extraordinary smooth, delicate yet complex single malt that is the result of the process. Maturing the Macallan for 21 years in a triple cask combination, delivers extraordinary smoothness, making this single malt delicate but at the same time complex.
