Stolichnaya Red Vodka is a classically styled, exceptionally smooth vodka. Crystal clear in colour, with marshmallow, mineral & mild fruit peel aromas. A soft, supple entry leads to a smooth, medium bodied palate with pastry frosting. The west began drinking " Stoli" in 1972, when Pepsi brokered a multimillion dollar trade deal to import it from the USSR to the US. Since then, Stoli's become a sentimental favourite; even today, it's one of the few Russian consumer products to make its way into Western homes. Made according to the traditional Russian methods, using pure grain filtered through birch charcoal & quartz sands, & then blended with pure spring water, Stoli is popular for its quality & slightly sweeter, oily taste & texture. The packaging remains a sterling example of Soviet kitsch. ...

The root of Stones Original Ginger wine dates back to 1740 when a company called the Finsbury Distilling Company was founded in the city of London. During this era the drinks business was booming & distilleries were flourishing across London. There was widespread drunkenness & it was beginning to cause concern & in 1751 an act was passed to prohibit the selling of alcohol direct from distillers to the public. Finsbury distilling company needed to get a retailer & they chose Joseph Stones, a green grocer in Holborn. They begun to make ginger wine & it was know to be ginger Joe so the company adopted this name for this ginger wine. Made from the finest top quality raisins & pure ground ginger, Stone's Ginger wine quickly became the flagship product for the company. Sales boomed in the 19th century mainly because of an epidemic & many thought that ginger was a cure. It was also believed that it helped with digestion & was an aphrodisiac. The company continued to grow even when Joe retired & his son came into the business as an apprentice sales man, who travelled the world spreading the name of Ginger Joe wines. ...
