Founded in 1868 by the famed oenologist Antonio Carpene Malvolti, the winery has been a crucial contributor to the history & study of Prosecco & is now run by the fourth generation of a family that specialises in the making of sparkling wines. Grapes for the Prosecco di Conegliano are selected only from the best hillside vineyards in the DOC Treviso area. Carpene Malvolti Prosecco Spumante Rose Brut is described by the winery as a noble & complex wine dedicated to high altitude tasters. It is made from Pinot Noir & the local Raboso grape, lightly macerated, to give a wine with delicate summer fruit aromas & intense red fruit & mineral flavours. With fish risotto, baked salmon, eel, creamed cod, veal, poultry & rabbit. Excellent with sheep & goat cheese.
