Having created two different wines from the world class Agiorgitiko grape, Notios Red, a wine designed to be enjoyed in its youth, & Gaia Estate, a wine with a long ageing potential, we knew that we had not fully expressed the potential of this versatile variety. Thus, we have bridged the gap & added to our portfolio Agiorgitiko by Gaia, a wine that was the missing link of that admirable chain of wines produced by Agiorgitiko. Agiorgitiko by Gaia is a well-structured wine with intense ripe fruit aromas & well-integrated oak flavours. Under proper cellar conditions, it can be aged 2-4 years after release evolving into a velvety & more composite wine. Agiorgitiko by Gaia pairs best with red meat dishes that are rich, intense & spicy, at a temperature between 16ο & 18οC. ...

Gaia Estate is produced from Agiorgitiko grapes cultivated in our 7ha vineyard at Koutsi village of Nemea, at an altitude of 550m. Cultivating with care our vineyard, keeping yields in low levels, paying great attention to the extraction phase & using high-technology equipment, we give the chance to the ripe Agiorgitiko grape to express its powerful character at full strength. The new wine matures for at least 12 months in new French barriques (225lt) & is bottled without prior treatment such as chilling or filtration in order to preserve the best of all its essential elements. Gaia Estate has a deep red-black colour, complex aromatic profile, good structure & great volume. Without a doubt, under proper cellar conditions it continues to evolve into an even better & more highly structured wine for at least a decade. Someone should be patient with this wine, if he wants to discover its real personality. Enjoy it at 16o-18oC with game & spicy meat plates. ...

In 1978, the Marquis Piero Antinori released the vintage 1971 of Tignanello, a table wine which was a blend of the local Sangiovese grape with a small quantity of Cabernet Sauvignon, a non-traditional variety of Tuscany region. At the beginning, it seemed strange that Tignanello, an ex-Regional wine was downgraded to a common table wine without any geographic
Specification. Yet the wine gained global recognition & the international market named it Super Tuscan. So, a legendary wine was born. The story of Tignanello led many others winemakers of Tuscany to imitate the Marquis & therefore the Italian wine legislation followed the trend by creating relevant laws. So, a new category of superior quality wines was born: Super Tuscans that they have been the catalyst for an entire wine country, where pluralism is the key word. In 2007, bearing in mind the story of Super Tuscans & after successful experimentations & micro-vinifications with Syrah grape, we decided to create Gaia S, a blend of Agiorgitiko (70%) & Syrah (30%). You can interpret S whichever way you like; S for Syrah or S for Super Nemea. The grapes are cultivated in our plots on the hillsides of Koutsi in Nemea. Gaia S ages for 12 months in 225lt French oak barrels from Nevers & Allier forests & it is bottled without undergoing any filtering or additional procedures. After bottling, it sits for 5 months before its release on the market. Gaia S is a particularly deep red- black wine with intense aromas & flavours & rich & generous mouth. Syrah enhances the structure & the aromatic profile of the wine by adding complexity. It is a wine that under proper cellar conditions can age for more than a decade. ...
