Bruichladdich Bere Barley is the newest whiskey to be released from Bruichladdich & has been created in traditional Bruichladdich style with a fantastic story behind it involving Vikings, exploring, the ancient world & supposedly the original species of Barley. Bere Barley is said to be the first form of barley ever, brought over to Islay when the Vikings came centuries ago. It is a much denser & richer form of barley than the modern style, which caused a lot of distilling problems at the Bruichladdich distillery.
