Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is the darkest & most intense whisky in the Glenmorangie range that is extra matured. It has been aged a total of 12 years, but as usual with Glenmorangie, they had aged it in two different casks. The first being aged for 10 years in American White Oak cask & then being transferred into specially selected ruby port pipes from the Quintas or wine estates of Portugal. Extra maturation in these port pipes develop Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban into a sunlight rose gold colour with an aroma of dark mint chocolate, tangerines & Seville oranges mingle with sandalwood & walnut before giving way to a spicy finish of pepper & nutmeg. The Glenmorangie 12 year old Lasanta is an elegant but full bodied non chill-filtered Whisky. It has spent ten years maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon held casks before being extra matured for a further two years in Oloroso Sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. The name Lasanta is Gaelic meaning warmth & passion, & this whisky provides these two characteristics to the T. The 12 year old refines these two characteristics when it is left to mature in the Oloroso sherry casks, which brings an essence of the Spanish provenance to the Whisky.
