Matured for 14 months in French & American oak, 30% new, the 2009 Crackling Black Shiraz gives a deep garnet-violet colour & a fragrant nose with pronounced notes of cloves, lavender, black cherry & earth. Full-bodied with medium-firm fine grained tannins, crisp acid & a good mouthful of fruit, it finishes long & pure. Drinking now, it should remain delicious to 2015.
