This Pinot Noir is well-rounded & well-balanced. It has flavours of sweet red-curranted/cherry fruits & has integrated oak & tannins. The eleventh commercial release of this wine will not disappoint! This release was hand picked & the various parcels were coldsoaked for four days prior to a natural fermentation using 25% whole bunches with no pressings included. The base wines remained on gross lees for nine months without SO2 in 50% new & 50% seasoned French oak barriques. The wine was then bottled unfined & unfiltered. ...

The spicy shiraz is aged in French & American oak barrels for 14months. The touch of viognier lifts the shiraz creating a velvety, juicy wine with a touch of apricot. Ben Riggs is known as the king of the Shiraz in McLaren Vale. Riggs takes it easy with the oak influence to produce wines that are generous, smooth & very enjoyable. The clever balance of oak & tons of fruit make this wine work so well. Big & rich. Ripe & juicy. A co-fermentation of Shiraz with a touch of Viognier to fine tune a robust Shiraz to soften the edges & lift the palate, enhancing the baromatics of apricot & spice. Select, mature maize from the cornfields around the distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, is the base for Penny Packer. Three types of grain are used in the distilling process: maize, rye & barley. The maize content in Penny Packer is a high, above-average 70%. The law stipulates a maize content of only a minimum 51% in bourbon. The water used in the distilling is spring water drawn from the deep, broad veins of chalk, or limestone, that run through Kentucky. This water is especially pure & soft. Penny Packer is produced according to the continuous method of distillation. In other words, the distilling process is a long, uninterrupted procedure, the product of which is the desired full-bodied, yet pure distillate. This guarantees Penny Packer's invariable character & consistently high quality. Penny Packer is always matured, as required by the American bourbon law, in new casks made from American white oak, charred on the inside. The charring allows the whiskey to penetrate the wood more easily & thus take on the vanilla & caramel notes characteristic of Penny Packer. Penny Packer is stored in these casks over a number of years, far longer than prescribed by law (legal maturity: at least three years). The cellarmaster alone determines the final maturity. & he leaves the bourbon plenty of time. Penny Packer is a straight bourbon whiskey. The term 'straight' may only be used to describe bourbon that comes exclusively from one distillery & is not blended with bourbons of other origins. Penny Packer comes in a 0.7 l bottle (40% vol.) & is a particularly distinguished, full-bodied, yet mild straight bourbon whiskey with a slight hint of vanilla & caramel. The high quality of Penny Packer makes it absolutely ideal for enjoying neat. Americans usually drink it with water/soda, on the rocks, as a long drink or in cocktails (e.g. the famous Manhattan). Penny Packer is the bourbon for the young & the young at heart, for those who value high quality & authenticity, for people with a yearning for the true beauty of America, the land of opportunity. ...
