This is a special type of jenever (a Dutch style of gin) known as corenwyn or in grain wine in English. The name grain wine refers to the high proportion of malt distillate that is used in the blend for this particular drink. To be termed corenwyn the blend in question needs to be at least 51% distilled malt. This high proportion of malt gives corenwyn jenever a taste profile that is closer to a fine blended Scotch whisky than anything else.
