The Tullibardine distillery is one of the youngest Scottish distilleries. It was founded in 1949 by the architect William Delme-Evans & C.I. Barrett. In 1953 the Tullibardine distillery was sold on to Brodie Hepburn Ltd, who are whisky brokers from Glasgow. In 1971 the Brodie Hepburn Ltd was bought by Invergordon & then again in 1993 it was bought by Whyte & Mackay. In 1995 the Tullibardine distillery mothballed & wasn't opened again until 2003. This Whisky was distilled during the Brodie Hepburn Ltd reign of the distillery & it is bottled at cask strength. The nose of the whisky is medium bodied with notes of pine & hints of polish & cut grass. Barley sugar & mint encrusted chocolate follows the grass & consumes it. On the tongue it is full & firm, there are flavours of aniseed & salty melted butter. A thick custard note follows with a touch of apple peel & hay. The finish is very long with notes of cereals & aniseed with an oaky flavour that lingers at the back of the throat.
