With red volcanic clay, & calcareous soil, this vineyard has sun exposure of EW, NS with altitude of 80m, 100m, & 120m. The wine is handpicked during the last week of March & first week of April, has cold pre-fermentation maceration then 100% barrel fermentation in new French oak with wild yeast for 14 months. This wine is unfiltered. This wine is moderately dark in colour with a bright red rim (bodes well for all ageing). Dark fruit aromas with some mulberry & black cherry tones in the main picture framed solidly by an envelope of black truffles & forest floor. The palate shows dark fruits & a rich textural, almost mocha, flavour enveloping a core of firm acid & solid, but broad & spreading tannins. Enjoy with fish, white meats, wild, pastas, salads & risotto.
