A special selection from the best butts of an old Pedro Ximenez solera. The wine was launched in 1996, to commemorate the centenary anniversary of Lustau's foundation. Production is limited to just one bottling each year. Of a very dark brown colour, opaque & viscous, redolent of ripe fruit, liquorice & molasses on the nose. Soft, velvety & sweet on the palate. A dark gold colour with copper hints. Penetrating smoky wood aromas. In the mouth the wine is soft, reminiscent of dates & dried apricots. Complex & well balanced. The ' Anada 1997' is a vintage sherry produced from 100 per cent Palomino grapes. In order to preserve the natural sugars fermentation was arrested, & the wine was aged for 17 years in American oak barrels. The 1997 vintage produced 8.000 bottles. Food pairings
