Taylor's Fine Ruby port is a blend of full bodied port wines aged for around two years in large oak vats in Taylor renown lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia. The grapes used in the Fine Ruby blend are all from the Douro Valley, where Taylor's Estate is situated. The grape types used are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca & Tinta Cao. As the port wines age, they gain elegance & smoothness while retaining their fruitiness, intensity & youthful ruby colour due to limited aging. Once the wines are aged they ‘are blended together for balance & to keep the same consistency between all of Taylors Fine Ruby ports. Taylor's Fine Ruby has exceptionally firm tannins & concentrated fruitiness, Fine Ruby is perfect for the classic port & cheese combination. It also goes well with flavoured cheese & pairs good with berry fruit & dark chocolate flavours. On the nose, Taylor's Fine Ruby Port is stylishly fruity & full of intense concentrated blackcurrant & cherry aromas. Full bodied & firm, the palate is crammed with luscious black fruit flavours.
