Taylor's First Estate port is a classic reserve blend produced to commemorate the firm's acquisition in 1744 of its first property in the upper Douro Valley, the Casa dos Alambiques at Lugar das Lagas. Taylor's First estate port is a blend, created from full bodied young red wines from the Cima Corgo area. To intertwine the flavours from the separate blends together Taylor's matures its port for several years in oak vats which also helps mellow the port. Its intensely fruity flavours combined with aromatic elegance makes the First Estate a perfect port to join the Taylor family The First Estate is rich in looks with a dark ruby colour. The nose is potent of concentrated fruit crammed with blackcurrant, plum & liquorice flavours. It has a luxurious texture that is supported by a firm tannic structure giving the wine restrained elegance for Which Taylor's Ports are famous.
